Travis has worked in the agriculture industry his entire career. He is a Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) and received his Master’s degree in Crop & Soil Science from Illinois State University. Travis’s career and primary responsibilities with the Illinois Corn Growers Association provides him an opportunity to advocate for Illinois farmers and landowners in both Springfield and Washington D.C. As a third generation farmer, Travis has a deep understanding of what it takes to operate a successful farm. Whether it’s discussing cash rental rates, NRCS and FSA programs, soil productivity, or soil fertility, he can navigate the complex factors necessary to evaluate a farm.
Along with his career in Ag, Travis and his wife Alexa have started a real estate investment business in which they own and manage local rental properties. Travis’s hobbies include spending time with his family and newborn son, traveling, and enjoying weekends boating and fishing at his family’s recreational property on the Illinois River. Travis’s deep appreciation for the outdoors and strong work ethic make him a great fit for the Illinois Farm & Rec team. He resides in McLean County with his wife Alexa, their son Will, and dog Jack.
